Because we all watched Terminator. We all know what happens when machines start to think. Machines are a better species than us humans. Machines would evolve past us and make us their bitches. Be afraid people. Be very afraid.

After using PCs and smart phones I know that computers are so inferior to humans. What happens to me and my family when my self driving car hits its programmed obsolescence and glitches merging onto the interstate????

It isn't obsolescence.

Buick pioneered driverless cars a long time ago. When you see them on the road they're so tiny it looks like the driver's seat is empty!

As long as I can still have my normal car. It is an activity I enjoy. Also who will regulate it all. I don't need people tracking when I go and when. But driverless cars will probably be better than at least of 25% of people on the road

OK I finally have reason to post this. My stepbrother was in Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines and played Claire Danes' boyfriend (Scott Petersen) that ended up a terminator in the end. Here was one scene where he puts his fist through the chest of a cop and starts driving the fuzzmobile. Very fitting...

It's mostly the whole attributing things to human error thing and probably deciding our commute is too important for us to jeopardize with our presence.
